For the THIRTEEN players (and their parents) recognized at our end of the year banquet please save JUNE 17th as a date of importance.

The banner distinguishing our team as the #1 ranked academic team in the state is at school.  We have been put on the agenda for the school board meeting for recognition.  We will also have a brief gathering to recognize this group and parents are welcome.  More details to come as Mr. Walentuk and I work on the details.

I hope that all THIRTEEN players can join us that night for the school board recognition and a short gathering to recognize this accomplishment.

Wounded Warrior Project Letter Submitted in March

Dear Wounded Warrior Project,

On January 4th and February 7th the Lake Placid and Saranac Lake High School hockey teams competed in games that benefited the Wounded Warrior Project.  Players from these rival teams solicited jersey sponsors that earned the WWP nearly $1000.  Furthermore, the gate admission from both games was donated to the WWP.  This was especially generous by our schools and communities because that gate usually benefits the Lake Placid High School Varsity Club and the Saranac Lake Youth Hockey Association.  Lastly, we sold t-shirts at the event which raised approximately $400 and collected other donations from community members.

Enclosed with this letter are two checks with the overall sum total of  $3,070.  The communities of Lake Placid and Saranac Lake were key in contributing to these Wounded Warrior events and both our teams were proud to have raised money for such a vital cause.  Having these shared events between our two teams was a great opportunity and we only hope the money will help returning soldiers from combat.  It was also our hope that we raised awareness to the Wounded Warrior Project and its several functions.

Sincerely,

Keith Clark & Will Ellsworth
Head Hockey Coaches

Year-End Banquet(s) - Monday, March 24th

To coordinate the team and school banquet we will move our team banquet to Monday, March 24th.   Katrina Kroes was willing to accommodate the change so both events could be on the same night.

Our team banquet is on Monday, March 24th.

5:30 PM - 6:45 PM
We will have our team banquet at the Crown Plaza's MacKenzie Room.  The Kroes' have graciously offered to provide us this location.  Team members will not be charged. Parents, grandparents and family members will pay $12.00 a person and children 12 & under will pay $8.00.

At this event we will reflect on and celebrate our hockey season.  We will also announce our individual award winners.  Team members are required to attend and should dress nicely.

The school Winter Sports Celebration will also be on Monday, March 24th

7:00 PM-8:30 PM
In the Lake Placid HS auditorium will be the Winter Sports Banquet.  There, I  will summarize our year and distribute individual awards.  Also, Mrs. Brandes' slideshow will be shown on this night.
